Lincs Wings Christmas Bash 2015

Skegness hosted the Lincs Wings Christmas Bash for 2015.  A total of 40 attendees arrived, some on Friday and the rest on Saturday, for a weekend break at the County Hotel.  After a warm welcome from the staff, most of us opted to join the hotel restaurant for their evening meal, whilst a few took a wander into town to discover the remaining delights of Skegness (in wintertime).  Dinner was followed by a most pleasant evening in the hotel bar, which for some lasted well into the next morning.

Saturday morning dawned grey and wet, which put a damper on our enjoyment of the Skegness market, However, we did manage to get out for a walk and a nice lunch in Town.  Then the evening started at 5.00pm as we assembled in the bar for drinks and photos.  The theme for the night was 1920, which most seemed to interpret as Gangsters and Flappers.  So here are a few pics of us getting in the mood (in the bar)

After a few libations and lots of chat between friends old and new, we made our way through to dinner.  Thanks to the careful attentions of the County Hotel Staff, our meal went off without a hitch.  It also helped that Jayne had took the time to print out our pre-orders so that we knew what we had asked for.  Following the meal, a quick word of thanks to Sandy and Jayne for organising a great Christmas Bash and then Sandy responded by thanking the Staff for their great service and wonderful meal.

So after coffees, we retired up to the first floor ballroom where we were royally entertained with songs both new and old.  The dance floor soon filled up and everyone had a great time quick stepping and Jiving or just plain smooching to the music.

Half way through the evening Jim's Christine went up to claim the mic to sing a Christmas song.  Encouraged by the response, Stephen was then pushed out on the floor to give up renditions of 'Jail House Rock' and 'That'll be the Day'.  It was all good fun and the evening continued into the second half with even more energetic dancing and audience participation.

The evening continued with dancing singing and chatting until the early hours.

We all enjoyed some fabulous cakes baked by Dawn and brought down especially for us hungry wingers.  They were totally yummy.

Next morning we all assembled once again in the dining room for a scrummy fried breakfast, followed by loading up the car and saying farewell to our friends for Christmas.
