LINCS WINGS Wing Ding 2022

Lincs Wings 2022 Wing Ding was held at Market Rasen Cricket Club between 30 June and 1 July 2022.  The event was our first since the COVID lockdown, imposed back in 2020, and we have to say it was a complete a success.  We had 65 inscriptions and members attended from 16 different regions. The weather was kind and we received great feedback from all who attended.  The weekend, as in the past, was a "Chill and Chat" event with no loud music and just the chance to get together with good food, good beer, and good company to enjoy the weekend away.

Just before our Wing Ding, we had heard that Christine Cornthwaite, one of our dearest members, had sadly passed away after a long battle with cancer.  We were therefore surprised when her husband Martin came for the day to lend his support to the event.   Christine will be sadly missed but we hope that Martin will continue to take part in Lincs Wings as the valued member that he is.

During the weekend, we invited representatives from Lincolnshire Integrated Voluntary Emergency Services (LIVES) to whom we presented a cheque for their charity for £3000 raised at our 2021 Skegness Light Parade.

Our ride-outs to Lincoln Castle and Bomber Command were well subscribed with successful visits to both venues.

These were the Presentations made on the last night:

Furthest travelled were Peter and Wendy from Devon & Cornwall - 247 miles

Best attended region - Capitol

Best Bike - John Williams

Best Trike - Graham from Norfolk

For those of you who can remember, Tim who used to run Rase Park, won the men's welly throwing and his daughter Jade won the ladies.

The ladies who volunteered to do the meals and bar were presented with flowers and our sincere thanks.

Overall we raised £600 for the charity and we wish to send our thanks to all who attended for their support and friendship.
