Duxford Imperial War Museum - 15 September 2013

On a cool and dull Sunday morning, 5 intrepid bikers met at the Sleaford McDonalds cafe to ride out to the Duxford Imperial War Museum.  The weather forecast was for rain and high winds, but they were not put off or dismayed.  Led by Larry, 4 bikes (with just one pillion) set out into the the wild, down the A15 to Peterborough, then A1M, A14 and M11 to arrive 80 miles later at the IWM, where it had just started to rain.  Entry to the site is a hefty £17.50 each, but the museum is well worth it.  We spent the next 3 hours (that's £5.83 per hour or approx 10p per minute) looking around and taking photos before returning to the car park to dress again for the weather.  By this time, the rain had come and gone but we still suffered the tail end of the downpour and the wind had become extremely agitated with very harsh cross-winds hitting us from time to time.  Larry set a steady pace for the return until we arrive at the Peterborough Services where we split to go separate ways.  Despite the weather, we had a great day out.  Thanks to Larry, Martin, Trev and marion and of course your truly for keeping the Lincswings pennants flying.
