Well all this month I (yours truly) have been tearing up and down the road to Lincoln to visit my sick dad in hospital. At least it means I've had the bike out regularly. However, it also means that I couldn't get to Whitley Bay for their first Light Parade. But at least a few of our members managed to get there - here's Stephen and Lorraine on their nice new GL1800 with all its pretty lights. They also had a decent evening for the parade so well done Whitley Bay. I hope to get there next year !!! As for Lincs Wingers, we received Joint Best Attended Region with 8 Bikes in attendance.
The weekend included a ride-out to Seaham Harbour and here is Larry posing manfully despite the cool weather - he is the one on the right !
Here's the gang on the Whitley Bay Choo Choo
And here are a few more pics from the parade

Monthly Meeting and Ride-out - 8 Apr 2018
'Those April showers will come our way'.... Sunday 8 Apr was our monthly meeting at the Market Rasen Cricket Club. Despite a wet day there was a good turnout and we had a good ride from meeting HQ led at a comfortable pace by Stephen C. Sandy picked up the rear end of our column comprising 4 bikes and 3 trikes. Breakfasts, chip meals, ice cream and coffees followed and then people went off home their separate ways. Jayne and Sandy headed northwest to a favourite carvery and then took a long steady route back over the Lincolnshire Wolds to Boston. Here are a few pictures to show the day out.

Hunstanton Light Parade - 24 Mar 2018
The first Light Parade of the 2018 season got off to a good start for Norfolk Wings in 'sunny' Hunstanton. The March weather had been a little unkind so the clouds, rain and cold wings had held off attendance to some degree. However there was still a reasonable turnout to set the scene for this year. The static parade was held between 12.00 and 16.00 on the 'village green' and here are a few shots of the assembled bikes and trikes.
Next came the Light Parade at 1930, which was judged by local dignitaries in the coach carpark for the best lit bike and trike, before the parade set off to tour the town.
Finally back to Searles Leisure Resort for a well earned bevy and presentation of awards. Once again Lincs Region won the award for best attended and plenty more awards were doled out for best bike, best trike, best lit bike and trike, and furthest travelled.
Thanks to Norfolk Wings for organising and running a great Parade and lets hope you get better weather next year.

AGM and Monthly Meeting - Jan 2018
We started the year by returning to Langworth Memorial Hall for our AGM and monthly meeting. Sandy opened the AGM and wished everyone a Happy New Year and then invited reports from the Treasurer and the Web Master. We then got onto the trickier subject for election of officials. Sandy asked (begged) if anyone else wanted to have a hand at the helm, but it was unanimously agreed that his leadership should continue. Sue was returned unanimously as the Treasurer and Stephen (bless his cotton socks) stays on as Web Master and Wingspan Reporter. Jayne also agreed to continue as secretary, having survived her initiation last year in the post.
Last year had sparked a long discussion about ride-outs and whether we needed a Ride-out Coordinator. In fact, during last year, most of our ride-out had been made following each meeting so there was little need for coordination. In the end it was decided to scrap the position for this year and see how it goes.
Sandy asked the meeting if we wanted to continue holding Wing Dings each year, or to go back to the previous practice of holding them every other year. However, it was agreed throughout the room that the LINCS Wing Ding had proven very popular and should continue each year.
We also considered who should benefit from our charity work in 2018. Previously we have supported the Notts and Lincs Air Ambulance, but it was thought we could move on to give other charities a helping hand. So it was finally agreed that this year we would support 'LIVES' as our chosen charity.
Finally, we had been holding our regular meetings in Langworth Hall for 2 years now and Sandy asked if we wanted a change. It was agreed that this year our meetings will be held at Market Rasen Cricket Club.
At the end of the meeting we had voting for awards so please congratulate:
Sandy as Winger of the Year
Doug as Whoops of the Year
